Should you do a masters degree in data science in Germany?
Why not, but keep the following in mind!
In general, it is very, very practical in Germany because it doesn't cost a lot of money to study. Not like for example in the USA or something like that.
So if you are interested in it, you should first think about what the corresponding Master's programme is about. Of course there are some differences!
I mean the data science umbrella is not just data science, it's data engineering and data analysts and so on.
So you should look at the universities that offer such a programme and find out in which direction the programs go.
Does it only go into data science? Is there more of a computer science or data technology orientation? Or is this more for analysis purposes?
Some specialize in some tools and so on. As far as I know Apache Flink is very popular in Berlin, for example.
So it's important that you yourself know in which direction you want to go. Do you want to go into data engineering or rather into analytics? That's just the question you have to ask yourself first.
So if I were you, I would answer this question for myself and then look for a suitable university.
Once you have found one - go for it!
Do you think a Master's degree in Germany makes sense? Please let me know in the comments! :)
